Big Data Cloud Engineer

Roles:

  • Gathering, analyzing system requirements, and creating an architectural diagram for business needs.
  • Interact with business users and stakeholders to understand requirements and formulate the process.
  • Interacting with data architects and data modelers for data model review, ETL Design and source to target mapping documents.
  • Perform Data Analysis, Data Profiling, cleansing operations and investigate all data issues to address to Business/IT requirements.
  • Collaborating with Systems engineers/Software Developers to select appropriate design solutions and ensure the compatibility of system components.
  • Design, develop and review the application infrastructure layer for the services and to check data consistency for downstream applications.
  • Designing logical tables and columns and normalizing the tables in data marts and data warehouses.
  • Design ETL Jobs using DataStage and Informatica, develop Unix shell scripts and Hive queries to extract data.
  • Design Ingest process for data ingestion from wide variety of legacy source systems to Apache Hadoop ecosystem. Maintain data in different HIVE clusters.
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient data storage solutions using Snowflake
  • Collaborating with cloud architects to ensure the design as per the data security and compliance with industry standards.
  • Define and develop snowflake integration with various data sources and third-party tools.
  • Define scheduling of jobs in Control-M
  • Design EXPORT process of data export from the Hadoop ecosystems to Data Warehouse and make the transactional data available for semantic and reporting teams.
  • Define deployment process, Coordinating with stakeholders/Business Users.
  • Define Test Automation scripts to reduce manual regressive efforts and optimize system performance.
  • Define and design the Functional testing scenarios and test cases to perform end to end system testing.
  • Perform UT, QA testing, and resolve resulting defects. Resolve application related issues experienced by end users.
  • Provide support for UAT and PROD defect analysis and fixes.
  • Contribute to client/peer review meetings, defect triage meetings, and scrum meetings.
  • Design user stories and plan estimates for daily deliverables.
  • Deliver knowledge transition sessions on the technical and functional aspects of the project.
  • Contribute to planning and pre-planning meetings to estimate efforts and understand nature of the forthcoming work.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Scienceor closely related field is required.
